The Structural Principle of K-Type Thermocouples For Grill And Industrial Equipment
A thermocouple is a temperature sensor composed of two metal alloys that generate a voltage. This voltage is proportional to the temperature difference between the thermocouple conductors. Each thermocouple temperature sensor consists of two ends - the measuring junction (hot junction) and the EMF or emf junction (cold junction). When the temperature of the hot end changes, a change in electromotive force occurs at the cold end. This output emf is recorded by the controller. The output electromotive force increases with temperature. Depending on the application, different types of metals can be used to generate the required voltage. This allows thermocouples to be offered in different calibrations to meet various application temperature requirements.
The Advantage of K-Type Thermocouples For Grill And Industrial Equipment
Since the output emf increases with temperature, no external power supply is required. Therefore, thermocouples are self-sufficient in their operation.
In terms of design, these sensors are simple and robust. They are made from different types of high-strength metals, including aluminum, iron, copper, and platinum. This enables the sensor to be used in a wide variety of demanding industrial applications.
Thermocouples are notoriously cheap. Compared to RTDs, they were found to be nearly three times cheaper than RTDs.
Thermocouples directly measure temperature in an application. They are capable of measuring temperatures up to 2600oC.
The Application of K-Type Thermocouples For Grill And Industrial Equipment
The advantages of thermocouple sensors make them ideal temperature measurement devices for a variety of industrial applications:
Electric arc furnace
Fog machine
Gas turbine
Car diesel engine
Industrial oven
Millivolt Gas Control System
Thermocouple temperature sensors provide precise measurement ratings for extreme temperature industrial applications. They are cost-effective, robust, responsive and efficient and can be used for many years to come.
